TL;DR
Global Trade Compliance Manager (Consumer Electronics/Health-Tech): Building a global trade readiness program for new product introductions and market entries with an accent on customs classification, country-of-origin determinations, regulatory scans, and cross-functional launch governance. Focus on designing intake and escalation processes, coordinating trade risk and duty-optimization reviews, and establishing measurable readiness gates before product and market commitments.
Location: Hybrid role in London, England, UK; strong preference for candidates based in the GMT/BST (UK) time zone.

What you will do
- Own trade readiness for new product introductions and new market entries, including classification, country-of-origin, and market-entry regulatory pre-assessments.
- Create repeatable trade-readiness checklists, review cadences, and launch decision signals for product and regional expansion teams.
- Coordinate risk clearances, landed-cost and duty inputs, FTA eligibility, preferential programs, and first-sale opportunities.
- Design and implement intake, documentation, escalation, and Trade Request Intake processes.
- Track and report program KPIs, including pre-commitment launch assessments and lead time between trade engagement and launch.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years of experience in global trade compliance, customs, or international trade operations.
- Deep knowledge of global import/export regulations, HS classification, country-of-origin determinations, and trade-risk assessment.
- Experience building a program, process, or function from scratch and establishing governance where none exists.
- Strong cross-functional influence across Product, Legal, Sourcing, and Go-to-Market teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to escalate risk and readiness status to leadership.
Nice to have
- Experience in consumer electronics, health-tech, medical devices, or CPG.
- Familiarity with FTA and preferential trade programs and duty-savings mechanisms.
- OE & IT Diploma in International Trade / World Customs Compliance or CILT Certificate of Customs Competency.
