Trainee European Planner (Logistics)

Location: Based in Wakefield or Corby, UK; occasional overseas travel may be required.

Salary: £24,000–£30,000 per annum.

What you will do

• Support the planning and coordination of European road freight and short sea import/export shipments.
• Assist with customs and shipping documentation.
• Monitor shipments, track progress, and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Liaise with carriers, customers, and internal teams under supervision.
• Gain exposure to deep sea, air freight, and multimodal logistics operations.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel within the UK.
• GCSEs in English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
• Strong interest in logistics, freight forwarding, international trade, or transport.
• Good organisation, attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Motivation to learn, take responsibility, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, flexible, and adaptable approach.
