TL;DR

Service Technician (Wind Energy): Repair and maintain wind turbine generators and related equipment at the wind farm with an accent on safety analyses, preventive maintenance, and root cause analyses. Focus on performing corrective maintenance, ensuring safe operations in extreme conditions, and supporting 24/7 wind farm reliability.

Location: Onsite in Fluvanna, TX, US. Must be able to travel to the wind farm within 45 minutes in emergencies. Ability to travel domestically and internationally ~10% for training.

What you will do

  • Repair and maintain wind turbines and equipment at the wind farm.
  • Support 24/7 operations with rotating shifts, overtime, and on-call duties.
  • Conduct safety analyses for electrical and mechanical hazards before and during work.
  • Assist in root cause analyses for equipment failures.
  • Complete documentation for maintenance activities and report via Movilizer.
  • Read electrical and hydraulic schematics, use tools, and maintain safety gear.

Requirements

  • Speak and understand English fluently to communicate safety instructions and collaborate with team.
  • High school diploma or GED; certification/degree in wind/technical/engineering field preferred.
  • 0-1 year wind experience; ability to work with medium/high-voltage equipment.
  • Experience with hand/power tools; ability to climb heights >300 feet and lift 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license, insurable; pass pre-employment physical; weight ≤265 lbs for climbing gear.
  • Maintain training certifications; ability to work in extreme weather and confined spaces.
