Lead Software Engineer - Embedded Computing Software (Embedded)

Location: Remote in Massachusetts, United States; U.S. citizenship and active U.S. DoD clearance are required.

Salary: $108,900–$145,200 per year, plus bonus.

Defense Solutions division delivering embedded computing products and services for defense and aerospace applications.

What you will do

• Translate product plans and customer requirements into software specifications and requirements, including estimates for bids and proposals.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware development, and technical teams to design sustainable solutions.
• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded computing software in line with industrial, military, and aerospace standards.
• Implement and debug bootloaders, Linux and VxWorks device drivers, applications, test software, and product simulations.
• Diagnose advanced defects, resolve escalated customer issues, and deliver software enhancements.
• Support software design and test documentation and user manuals.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and active U.S. DoD clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8–12+ years of progressive software development experience, including complex applications or subsystems; 5+ years developing software systems and 4+ years leading software projects.
• Strong experience with C/C++, real-time embedded software, Linux, VxWorks, device drivers, scripting, Python, LabVIEW, and IPMI.
• Experience with Vivado/Vitis, PetaLinux, GCC, CMake, Yocto, Intel x86, ARM, AMD Zynq MPSoCs, and embedded debugging equipment.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, InfiniBand, RDMA, PCIe, SPI, I2C, RS232/RS422, requirements management, Git, Jira, Confluence, DO-178C, and CMMI.

Nice to have

• Advanced technical degree.
• Experience with LynxOS Hypervisor and virtualization concepts.
• Familiarity with GreenHills Multi, COSMIC, ClearQuest, and VectorCAST.
