Location: Louisville, Colorado or San Francisco, California, with the option to work remotely a few days per week. Travel up to 5%.
Salary: $145,920β$191,047 base salary annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain flight software for a satellite constellation operating in orbit.
- Collaborate with electrical, FPGA, ground software, and subsystem engineers on hardware-software integration.
- Develop unit and integration tests and troubleshoot software issues during live on-orbit operations.
- Lead code reviews, mentor teammates, and provide cross-training and technical documentation.
- Support the full software development lifecycle from requirements analysis and architectural tradeoffs through deployment.
- Support integration and operations teams with software-related questions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience and a bachelorβs degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience designing and developing real-time embedded hardware and software, including low-level drivers and hard real-time software on bare metal or RTOS.
- Strong programming skills in compiled languages such as C and C++, plus scripting languages such as Python and shell script.
- Familiarity with embedded Linux, Linux kernel modules, standard Linux tools, and software configuration management.
- Experience developing software for microcontrollers and embedded systems such as Xilinx Zynq SoCs.
- Must meet U.S. export-control and government-contract eligibility requirements, including U.S. Person status or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and electronics hardware, such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
