VP, US Government Relations

Location: Washington, D.C.; Remote - Washington, D.C.; Remote - Virginia. US citizenship required.

Salary: $271,000–$428,000 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $336,500–$504,500 annually.

What you will do

• Lead the US Government Relations strategy across Congress, the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, the Department of State, and other federal agencies.
• Shape defense appropriations and authorization priorities, including funding requests, legislative materials, hearings, markups, and report language.
• Build relationships with congressional members and staff across defense, intelligence, foreign relations, homeland security, space, and cyber committees.
• Advise senior leadership on defense policy, congressional dynamics, agency priorities, budget cycles, geopolitical developments, and emerging risks.
• Prepare executives for congressional and agency engagements and develop briefings, talking points, policy narratives, and recommendations.
• Coordinate with business development, strategy, legal, communications, capture, and technical teams to align government engagement with customer needs and growth priorities.

Requirements

• Significant experience in US Government relations, congressional affairs, defense appropriations, national security policy, or federal agency engagement.
• Deep understanding of the congressional defense budget process, including appropriations, authorization, hearings, markups, report language, and legislative cycles.
• Strong relationships across Congress and experience engaging senior stakeholders in the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, Department of State, or other national security agencies.
• Strong knowledge of the US defense and national security market, including acquisition dynamics, mission priorities, policy trends, and budget drivers.
• Ability to translate complex technical and mission concepts into clear policy and funding narratives and advise senior executives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, judgment, discretion, credibility, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Nice to have

• Experience working on Capitol Hill, in the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or Department of State.
• Experience supporting defense, aerospace, space, satellite communications, or national security technology companies.
• Familiarity with commercial space, defense networking, tactical and resilient communications, cybersecurity, spectrum, or government mobility solutions.
• Experience with foreign military sales, allied interoperability, or international security cooperation.
