Attorney (Insurance Defense)

Location: Hybrid role requiring regular office time in Mount Laurel, New Jersey; travel to job-related activities and irregular hours may be required.

Salary: $129,250–$145,000 per year, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 24% of base salary.

What you will do

• Own insurance defense litigation matters and handle legal assignments under Law Department guidelines.
• Prepare pleadings, discovery requests and responses, reports, and other litigation documents.
• Represent clients at trials, mediations, depositions, hearings, and other litigation events.
• Develop trial strategies and case plans throughout the litigation process.
• Build collaborative relationships with clients, claim partners, co-workers, and experts.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of relevant litigation experience preferred, particularly in insurance defense, medical malpractice, personal injury, or workers’ compensation.
• J.D. from an A.B.A.-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Active law license in the state of operation and good standing with the New Jersey State Bar.
• Experience with trials, arbitration, mediation, depositions, file ownership, and legal communication.
• Knowledge of state and local discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law.
• Must be eligible to work lawfully in the United States immediately; visa sponsorship is not available.
