Senior Manager, Staff Counsel - Hackensack, NJ

Location: Hybrid, West Orange, New Jersey; travel is required for trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.

Annual salary: $166,050–$260,350.

What you will do

• Manage staff counsel office activities related to liability, property damage, UM/UIM, and subrogation litigation.
• Supervise, train, evaluate, and develop attorneys and support staff, including handling personnel decisions.
• Represent hirify.global insureds and hirify.global in litigation, trials, arbitrations, hearings, depositions, and examinations under oath.
• Research applicable law and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
• Provide liability, damages, and value opinions to the Claims Department.
• Review office performance metrics and implement improvements to reporting timeliness, productivity, file quality, expense management, and subrogation results.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Active law license in good standing in applicable jurisdictions, including compliance with mandatory Continuing Legal Education requirements.
• At least 10 years of litigation experience, including insurance defense or personal injury.
• Management experience supervising a team of attorneys and support staff.
• Demonstrated success with primary trial responsibility for cases of significant severity and complexity.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, prioritization, conflict resolution, and multitasking skills.
