Software Engineer, Short Term Technology (Java/AWS)

Salary: $125,000–$240,000 per year, plus a discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices for trading and cash management systems using Java 21 and modern frameworks.
• Modernize existing platforms and develop new cloud-native, containerized services.
• Contribute to migration from legacy environments to AWS using services such as Lambda, EKS, RDS, S3, and MSK.
• Apply test-driven development, CI/CD practices, and strong engineering standards across the software lifecycle.
• Improve observability through metrics, tracing, and logging.
• Partner with portfolio managers, traders, and operations teams to translate front-office workflows into robust technical designs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Java and backend development; Java 17+ experience is preferred.
• Experience with microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Exposure to AWS or cloud-native engineering concepts, including containers, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
• Interest or experience in using AI tools for code generation, test creation, documentation, and operational automation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with business users in a fast-moving front-office environment.
• Proactive mindset, eagerness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively.
