Software Test Engineer II (Python)

Location: Pune, India; hybrid work with attendance at the Pune office three times per week

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Python automated tests for backend services, REST APIs, system integrations, and network or infrastructure applications.
• Create and execute automated test suites, review reported bugs, reproduce issues, verify fixes, and support release readiness.
• Develop automated test suites through continuous integration and provide feedback on software quality, usability, functionality, and compliance.
• Derive testing requirements, prepare test plans, cases, procedures, and reports, and plan testing strategies based on project scope and delivery dates.
• Research, analyze, and document test findings while collaborating with Engineering and Quality Engineering teams to diagnose problems and recommend solutions.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on Python programming experience.
• Hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting test automation.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and experience working with an existing Python codebase.
• Experience or knowledge of backend testing, API testing, REST APIs, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, database validation, and Python testing frameworks such as pytest, unittest, or Behave.
• Working knowledge of Git, Linux fundamentals, networking, and troubleshooting using API responses, logs, databases, and system or network information.
• Ability to work from the Pune office three times per week. A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent business experience is also required.

Nice to have

• Experience with BDD and Behave.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitLab Runners, virtual machines, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress; UI automation alone is not sufficient for this role.
