TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace/Defense): Developing and sustaining manufacturing processes for energetic materials and aerospace/defense products with an accent on safety, quality, productivity, cost, and process efficiency. Focus on designing work instructions, routings, tooling, fixtures, production layouts, process capability studies, and continuous improvement through Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and process hazard analysis.

Location: Hollister, California, United States. The position supports onsite manufacturing operations and requires compliance with U.S. Government export control regulations; candidates must be U.S. Persons or obtain the necessary government authorization.

Salary: $66,900–$124,300 per year, plus potential bonus.

What you will do

  • Develop, implement, and sustain manufacturing methods, operation sequences, specifications, and equipment requirements for new and existing products.
  • Review product drawings and create manufacturing procedures, work instructions, process routings, labor standards, and production readiness plans.
  • Prepare labor, material, tooling, and equipment cost estimates and support capital equipment specification, installation, and startup.
  • Design tooling and fixtures, implement production layouts, and participate in design reviews to ensure manufacturability.
  • Conduct process capability studies, statistical process control, process audits, and time studies.
  • Drive waste reduction and efficiency improvements using Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and process hazard analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent technical experience.
  • At least three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • U.S. Person status or the ability to obtain required U.S. Government export authorizations is required for continued employment.

Nice to have

  • At least one year of electronics experience.
  • Automation programming experience.
