Senior Software Developer (Fintech)

Location: Newport Beach, California, USA

Salary: $175,000–$240,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Manage the structured-products risk generation space and lead a team of offshore resources.
• Deliver complex platforms that support investment decisions and optimize risk-generation processes.
• Work with portfolio managers and quantitative professionals to gather requirements and iterate solutions.
• Translate financial and mathematical models into production-quality software.
• Build and maintain data infrastructure and reporting components in a large-scale, data-intensive ecosystem.
• Improve performance, scalability, robustness, code quality, and engineering standards through architecture, testing, reviews, and mentoring.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• BS/MS degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience developing large-scale, data-intensive applications and platforms.
• Strong foundation in optimization, statistical techniques, operations research, or mathematics.
• Proficiency in Python and working experience with AWS.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, design patterns, data modeling, relational and NoSQL databases, and RESTful APIs.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake.
• Experience with messaging systems and caching mechanisms.
• Knowledge of financial markets and experience in a fast-paced environment.
