Semi-Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Seattle, Washington, USA; hybrid work required

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services using Python.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and scale payment and financial systems.
• Develop cloud-native solutions with Google Cloud services such as Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Firestore, and BigQuery.
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code focused on performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive long-term technical improvements.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers while improving CI/CD, observability, and developer tooling.

Requirements

• Must be based in Seattle, Washington, USA and comfortable working in a hybrid model.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship.
• 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and backend development fundamentals.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, SQL or NoSQL databases, and cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
• Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and fault tolerance, plus strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Flask or FastAPI, Redis, gRPC, Kubernetes, Terraform, New Relic, or PagerDuty.
• Familiarity with React, JavaScript, HTML/DOM, CSS, AJAX, and frontend development.
