AI Engineer

What you will do

• Build and evolve shared AI capabilities, reusable services, and engineering accelerators for multiple construction software products.
• Design and implement production-grade AI systems, including LLM experiences, retrieval pipelines, tool use, orchestration layers, and agentic workflows.
• Create technical specifications, evaluations, interface definitions, and workflow contracts for human- and machine-executable delivery.
• Define evaluation-driven development loops covering quality, reliability, latency, cost, grounding, and maintainability.
• Partner with product, engineering, AI product, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities, guide integrations, and align implementation with measurable customer value.
• Promote AI-native engineering practices, reliability and governance standards, automated testing, knowledge sharing, and responsible production use of AI.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including significant work on production-grade AI or data-intensive systems.
• Excellent Python programming skills and proficiency with Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI, LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, agents, and their production trade-offs and failure modes.
• Experience designing and operating end-to-end AI systems across APIs, application services, data pipelines, retrieval layers, evaluation workflows, and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong architectural judgment, experience creating reusable patterns, and the ability to collaborate with product teams on local implementation decisions.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.

• Experience with AI-assisted engineering, Spec-Driven Development, modern developer tooling, and intelligent engineering agents.
• Experience contributing to cross-functional work from prototyping through production rollout and continuous improvement in agile environments.
• Experience supporting other engineers through technical collaboration, peer review, and knowledge sharing.
