AI Engineer (Generative AI)

Location: London, United Kingdom. Hybrid work with 3 days per week in the office.

What you will do

• Build Generative AI and AI agent solutions for customer operations, internal automation, lending operations, and risk workflows.
• Design prompts, workflows, and evaluation processes to improve AI reliability and usefulness.
• Integrate LLMs with internal tools, APIs, databases, and business systems.
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable Python code while rapidly prototyping and iterating on solutions.
• Improve production reliability through testing, logging, monitoring, fallback handling, and human review.
• Collaborate with teams in the UK and Shenzhen to identify and implement high-value AI use cases.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, AI, machine learning, automation, or related technical work.
• Strong Python skills, including API integrations, data processing, asynchronous programming, and clean-code practices.
• Understanding of Generative AI concepts including LLMs, embeddings, RAG, prompt engineering, structured outputs, and model limitations.
• Knowledge of prompt design, evaluation methods, reliability improvement, and hallucination reduction.
• Interest in AI agents and workflow design, including tool calling, task planning, memory, orchestration, and human-in-the-loop systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical teams and turn ambiguous business problems into working solutions.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with LLM applications, RAG, embeddings, structured outputs, function calling, or agentic workflows.
• Experience evaluating AI outputs and improving reliability over time.
• Experience with GCP Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, or similar cloud AI platforms.
• Background in financial services, consumer lending, credit risk, collections, or operations automation.
• Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.
