New Patient Nurse (Cannabis-Based Medicine)

Location: Fully remote within the UK; full-time, 40 hours per week, with one Saturday per month and a day in lieu.

What you will do

• Conduct video-based pre-assessment consultations with prospective patients.
• Take detailed medical histories, including medications, family history, and previous treatments.
• Assess patient suitability for referral to clinical consultants without prescribing or delivering treatment.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in electronic medical record systems.
• Guide patients through onboarding and answer clinical questions appropriately.
• Escalate safeguarding concerns and contraindications in line with policy and national guidance.

Requirements

• NMC registration and at least five years of post-registration clinical experience.
• UK-based nursing degree or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in remote clinical work, including telephone or video consultations.
• Strong clinical reasoning and confidence making autonomous decisions.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, and clinical governance, plus confidence using video platforms and EMRs.

Nice to have

• Experience in pain management, cannabis-based medicinal products, or complementary therapies.
• Experience in a fast-paced or high-volume clinical setting.
