Nurse Practitioner — Telehealth Consultations (Contractor)

Location: Remote from Australia; Sydney, Australia. Availability is rostered around peak demand from Tuesday to Saturday, 9am–6pm, with additional shifts on Monday, Tuesday, and Sunday.

What you will do

• Conduct mandatory real-time video consultations before issuing prescriptions or treatment authorisations.
• Verify patient identity, review medical histories, assess contraindications and previous treatments, and complete psychological suitability screening, including BDD screening.
• Collaborate with treating nurses on clinical decisions, holistic treatment planning, and treatment authorisations.
• Approve, modify, or decline treatment plans and issue authorisations with specific conditions or limits through the Fresh platform.
• Maintain contemporaneous consultation records, document informed consent, and record declined treatments.
• Escalate clinical concerns and adverse events and participate in clinical audits, case reviews, and peer review.

Requirements

• Current AHPRA registration as a Nurse Practitioner without conditions, undertakings, or restrictions.
• Endorsement to prescribe Schedule 4 medicines within the individual scope of practice.
• Demonstrated experience in cosmetic and aesthetic medicine, including knowledge of non-surgical cosmetic procedures and telehealth guidelines.
• Current professional indemnity insurance in the candidate’s own name covering telehealth consultation, prescribing, cosmetic practice, and run-off cover.
• Current CPR certification, competence in recognising and managing cosmetic injectable complications, and the ability to make independent clinical decisions remotely.
• Australian Business Number, capacity to invoice as an independent contractor, national police check, supported iOS device, stable internet, and a private consultation space.

Nice to have

• Experience performing cosmetic injectable treatments and overseeing or authorising them in a clinic or telehealth setting.
• Familiarity with cosmetic injectable products, treatment protocols, and complication management.
• Availability throughout the week, especially during Tuesday–Saturday peak windows.
• Experience with clinical governance, audits, or committee work.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly through telehealth.
