UX Researcher (Fintech)

Location: Manchester, UK; hybrid working with at least 50% of working time per month in the office. New starters initially work full-time from the office.

What you will do

• Lead generative and tactical discovery research from problem framing through insights and recommendations.
• Select and apply qualitative and quantitative research methods, including moderated and unmoderated studies, surveys, and in-person observation.
• Partner with UX Designers and product teams to explore opportunities and shape ideas before evaluative testing.
• Synthesise complex research findings into clear, actionable insights and present recommendations to varied stakeholders.
• Provide evidence that supports product decision-making and challenges assumptions constructively.
• Help develop research practices, ways of working, and tooling across the growing UX Research function.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a UX Researcher and independently leading studies.
• Strong grounding in qualitative research and experience applying quantitative methods when appropriate.
• Confidence choosing research methods to answer product questions and explaining methodological decisions.
• Experience collaborating with designers and product teams in an agile or iterative environment.
• Ability to synthesise complex findings into compelling insights and present outputs to stakeholders.
• Experience in regulated environments or financial services is helpful but not essential.
