Senior Software Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Rehovot, Israel

What you will do

• Design and develop backend software solutions for complex product features and distributed metrology systems.
• Own significant features and product domains from requirements analysis and design through implementation, validation, deployment, and improvement.
• Collaborate with Product Management, software architects, algorithms, image processing, QA, automation, and system engineering teams.
• Build scalable, maintainable, reliable, and supportable software using modern development practices.
• Drive quality through code reviews, testing, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes.
• Use and help advance AI-assisted software development tools and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 6+ years of experience in backend or server-side software development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java or other object-oriented programming languages and software design principles.
• Experience developing complex software systems and owning features through production delivery.
• Understanding of source control, build systems, code reviews, testing strategies, CI/CD, and release workflows.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and software quality ownership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Linux-based development, and containerized environments.
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or workflow orchestration technologies such as Temporal, Redis, RabbitMQ, or Apache Flink.
• Experience developing web applications and user interfaces.
• Experience using AI-powered development tools, assistants, and agents.
• Knowledge of the semiconductor industry and multidisciplinary R&D projects.
