TL;DR
AI Backend Engineer (AI/microservices): Building backend infrastructure, microservices, APIs, data pipelines, and background workflows that support production AI features with an accent on scalable distributed systems, model integration, and real-time performance. Focus on designing resilient services, optimizing complex data workflows, and driving end-to-end feature delivery through testing, deployment, and architecture decisions.

What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain backend infrastructure and microservices for AI-driven features.
- Integrate AI models and services into core platform systems in collaboration with infrastructure and data groups.
- Develop and optimize APIs, data pipelines, and background processing workflows.
- Improve the performance, scalability, and resilience of production systems supporting real-time AI interactions.
- Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, architecture discussions, testing, deployment automation, and mentoring.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development.
- Strong knowledge of software design, clean architecture, scalable distributed systems, testing methodologies, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience leading end-to-end feature development from design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Research-based master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Professional experience in Data Science and hands-on data analysis, including investigating complex datasets, testing hypotheses, and translating findings into engineering decisions.
- Ability to independently research and evaluate technologies, build proofs of concept, and integrate them into production systems.
Nice to have
- Production experience with LLMs.
- Experience with AWS or an equivalent cloud platform.
