Sr. Program Manager - Missile Defense (aerospace and space-based interceptors): Leading mission-critical missile defense programs from concept through execution with an accent on integrated cost, schedule, and technical baselines. Location: Hybrid work near Long Beach, California, United States; some work must be performed on site.
Base salary: $140,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do
- Lead mission-critical missile defense programs from concept through integration, testing, deployment, and execution.
- Create and own coordinated cost, schedule, and technical baselines with the chief engineer.
- Build customer relationships, align program goals with mission objectives, and lead customer-facing reviews and engagements.
- Direct cross-functional program functions across systems engineering, mission operations, security, safety, facilities, contracts, finance, supply chain, communications, and IT.
- Manage program risks, issues, priorities, budgets, schedules, technical performance, and subcontractor contributions.
- Prepare and lead bids, proposals, studies, deliverables, and internal and external program management reviews.
Requirements
- Experience delivering a complex space vehicle or weapons system through the full engineering life cycle.
- Experience managing Department of War or U.S. Space Force contracts, preferably large-scale contracts typically valued at $50M or more.
- Expertise in research and development programs, budget oversight, risk management, and milestone-driven execution.
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 9 years of relevant experience, graduate degree with at least 7 years, or 13 years of relevant experience without a degree.
- Active Secret clearance and eligibility to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance are required.
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility for required U.S. Department of State authorizations is required for ITAR compliance.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree and 14 or more years of related experience for the Senior Program Manager level.
- Missile defense experience, including threat discrimination or autonomous navigation of multi-object systems.
- Active TS/SCI U.S. government clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Experience with national security aerospace programs, ISO 9001:2000 processes, and program documentation tools and templates.
