Senior Manager, Application Development (.Net, React, Databricks)

Location: Chicago, IL; hybrid work with 2–3 days per week on-site at the Chicago office.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and location. Additional incentive compensation may apply.

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional development teams and oversee large-scale application development projects and support functions.
• Provide technical and strategic direction for software architecture, coding practices, quality assurance, and solution delivery.
• Translate business requirements into system and application designs aligned with technology roadmaps.
• Build partnerships with product owners, business leaders, architects, and technology stakeholders.
• Lead technology initiatives, organizational change, continuous improvement, and adoption of modern development tools.
• Manage team performance, development, engagement, budgeting, resource planning, vendors, and third-party integrations.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with .NET/C#, React, SQL Server, SSIS, Azure SQL, REST APIs, Databricks, scalable ETL pipelines, data models, and BI tools.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, microservices, cloud platforms, DevOps, environment and release management, security, and compliance.
• 4–5 years of experience leading developers and testers, with demonstrated coaching, performance management, and team development skills.
• Experience managing large-scale projects or programs, including budgeting, resource planning, vendor management, and third-party solution integration.
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Must be legally eligible to work at the specified location; this position does not offer visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with foundation AI models such as GPT, BERT, or Llama and integrating AI/ML solutions into enterprise applications.
• Experience with AI model fine-tuning, customization, and AI-powered coding agents such as GitHub Copilot.
