Senior Manager – AI and R&D Infrastructure

Location: Plymouth, Minnesota, US; hybrid work arrangement. US work authorization is required, and visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $170,000–$195,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead cloud platform engineers, agentic AI developers, and systems imaging specialists; build team structure, career paths, accountability, and engineering excellence.
• Execute the AI and R&D Infrastructure strategy and roadmap across cloud platforms, AI automation, infrastructure, and systems imaging.
• Establish cloud governance with policy controls, reusable IaC modules, guardrails, cost tracking, naming, tagging, alerting, logging, and observability standards.
• Drive agentic AI automation across CTO, clinical, Quality, and operational domains with governance, observability, human-in-the-loop controls, responsible-use standards, and AI risk analysis.
• Own Windows and Linux systems imaging, endpoint management, configuration management, patching, secrets management, security baselines, and compliance for corporate, regulated R&D, and laboratory environments.
• Oversee regulatory compliance, CSV activities, architecture reviews, threat modeling, change control, and resolution of high-impact infrastructure incidents, pipeline failures, agent defects, and imaging issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in IT platform engineering, DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or related disciplines.
• At least 4 years managing technical teams of 5 or more engineers, with a demonstrated record of building and scaling high-performing teams.
• Senior-manager-level experience contributing to strategy, organizational structure, and technical direction across a broader organization.
• Advanced knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure and architecture, including cloud platforms, observability, CI/CD, IaC, and containerization.
• Experience with agentic AI concepts, LLM application patterns, and AI governance considerations.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems imaging, endpoint management, platform security, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Regulated-environment experience involving FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, HIPAA, or SOC 2, plus strong organizational influence, autonomy, judgment, and a bias toward action.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree.
• Working knowledge of AWS.
• Familiarity with computer systems validation and 21 CFR Part 11.
• Awareness of medical-device cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST and FDA guidance.
