Senior Analyst, Technology - Technology – Workday Finance

Location: Rockville, Maryland, United States; hybrid work with defined in-person presence requirements

Salary: $112,300–$202,500 annually for work performed in Maryland, Virginia, Massachusetts, or Washington, DC. Other published ranges apply to Colorado, Florida, Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey.

What you will do

• Serve as the subject matter expert for Workday Financials across core financials, payables, receivables, procurement, expenses, banking, assets, and projects.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into functional designs, configurations, security roles, business processes, and approval workflows.
• Configure allocation rules, schedules, basis definitions, reports, calculated fields, dashboards, and composite reports.
• Lead testing, deployment, biannual releases, enhancements, and new Workday Finance implementations.
• Develop and maintain integrations using EIBs, Core Connectors, and Workday Studio, and troubleshoot production issues through root-cause analysis.
• Support financial close processes, data governance, tenant management, and cross-functional adoption while mentoring junior analysts.

Requirements

• Senior-level expertise across multiple Workday Finance modules, including Core Financials, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, Expenses, Business Assets, Banking & Settlement, and Projects.
• At least five years of experience writing complex SQL queries and working with relational databases, plus a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with a full-lifecycle Workday Finance implementation or large-scale tenant migration, multiple Workday tenants, release cycles, and change management.
• Working knowledge of GAAP or IFRS and the ability to translate accounting standards into Workday configuration.
• Experience with business process mapping, requirements documentation, visualization and analytics tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos Analytics, VBA, Dataiku, or Domino.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with defined in-person presence requirements, communicate effectively, and explain technical concepts to varied audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience configuring or supporting Workday Adaptive Planning for budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Experience with R, Python, Workday integrations, or analytics solutions for infrastructure, operations, or application delivery teams.
• Master’s degree.
