HR Specialist (Workday), People Analytics

Location: Rockville, Maryland, United States; hybrid work environment with defined in-person presence requirements.

Salary: $83,300–$148,600 annually for work performed in Maryland, depending on skills, experience, education, and market factors.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain recurring and ad hoc Workday reports covering headcount, attrition, movement, organizational changes, and workforce metrics.
• Use Workday reporting tools and third-party analytics platforms to support workforce planning and HR initiatives.
• Respond to HR and business stakeholder questions, report requests, and data interpretation needs.
• Maintain report documentation, centralized report libraries, reusable dashboards, and templates.
• Perform data-quality checks and audits, maintain metric definitions, and support data governance standards.
• Investigate reporting discrepancies and collaborate with HRIS and engineering teams on resolution and automation improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• At least 3 years of HRIS or workforce reporting experience, with a strong focus on Workday operational reporting.
• Hands-on experience with Advanced Reports, Report Writer, Calculated Fields, Matrix Reports, and Composite Reports.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and stakeholder-support skills.
• Knowledge of HR data structures, workforce metrics, data validation, troubleshooting, and data-quality principles.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with required in-person presence in Rockville, Maryland.

Nice to have

• Workday Reporting or HCM Reporting certification or training.
• Experience with Workday dashboards, self-service reporting, or Workday Prism Analytics.
• Experience with report standardization, data governance, Agile methodologies, and cross-functional teams.
