Senior Linux Systems Administrator

Location: Onsite in Lexington, Massachusetts, 4–5 days per week; candidates must live within 100 miles of Lexington and be US citizens with an active Secret clearance.

What you will do

• Administer a mid-sized enterprise Red Hat Linux environment, including Red Hat 7/8 servers and Red Hat Identity Management.
• Deploy and maintain Ansible automation, network services, and software lifecycle automation tools.
• Support networks used to process and evaluate data from field tests and flight experiments.
• Optimize server performance and manage patching, system hardening, cybersecurity, centralized logging, and audit capabilities.
• Manage scripting, storage, virtualization, backup, and disaster recovery for mission-critical systems.
• Provide occasional administration for Windows desktops and servers.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance and US citizenship are required.
• Onsite attendance 4–5 days per week in the Lexington, Massachusetts area is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
• At least five years of systems administration experience with Linux OS and scripting.
• Experience with Red Hat Linux, Red Hat Identity Management or FreeIPA, Linux kernel networking, Active Directory, LDAP, GitLab, centralized logging, backup, and software lifecycle automation.
• Experience with Bash or Python scripting, VMware virtualization, SAN/iSCSI storage, PKI, MFA, PIV technologies, and enterprise hardware.

Nice to have

• Experience applying DoD system-hardening guidelines.
• Security+, Linux+, or equivalent certification, or the ability to obtain a relevant certification within six months.
