Experienced/Lateral - Linux Systems Administrator

Location: Fully in-person, based in New York City, United States

Annual base salary: $275,000, plus a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Administer Linux workstations on trading floors and in offices.
• Install and maintain Linux servers and networking appliances in datacenters.
• Deploy workstations, servers, and office appliances such as printers, phones, and televisions.
• Perform hardware maintenance, racking, and stacking in datacenters.
• Support large-scale infrastructure build-outs, including projects that require domestic or international travel.
• Interact with users across the organization and complete varied systems administration tasks.

Requirements

• Fluency in Linux administration.
• Experience with Debian or Ubuntu, BIND, Ansible, Linux KVM, Zabbix, and Google Workspace tools.
• Experience scripting with Bash and Python.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity tools and controls including 2FA, iptables rulesets, Malwarebytes, and fail2ban.
• Strong communication skills, task ownership, and the ability to handle frequent context switches.
• Ability to move and install equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and work hands-on in datacenters.

Nice to have

• Windows administration skills.
• SQL and Perl experience.
• A broad systems administration background suited to varied responsibilities in a small-shop environment.
