System Administrator (Intermediate) (Cybersecurity)

Location: 100% on-site in Huntsville, Alabama, United States. Standard business hours with on-call rotation or periodic work outside standard hours; up to 10% domestic travel may be required.

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, and secure physical and virtual Windows and Linux servers, workstations, and infrastructure enclaves.
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, VMware ESXi, vCenter, NAS, and SAN environments.
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, system replication, patching, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening activities.
• Apply DISA STIGs and support RMF, NIST SP 800-53, audit, configuration management, PKI, and SSO requirements.
• Develop administrative automation with PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible and troubleshoot enterprise network equipment and secure LAN connections.
• Provide Tier II/III support, resolve escalated incidents, train users, manage ServiceNow requests, and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of relevant systems administration experience.
• Proficiency with VMware ESXi, vSphere, or vCenter; Windows Server, Active Directory, and GPOs.
• Hands-on administration of RHEL or Ubuntu Linux environments.
• Experience with ACAS, Nessus, SCAP Compliance Checker, and patch management tools such as WSUS, Tanium, or Ansible.
• Active Secret clearance required before starting; IAT Level II baseline certification required.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting U.S. military or agency programs in Huntsville.
• Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD tools, or Server+ certification.
