Linux System Developer

Location: Hybrid, based in Fall River, Massachusetts, with at least 3 days in the office. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Salary: $90,000–$150,000 per year. A broader pay range of $90,000–$184,000 is also listed based on experience, skills, and education.

What you will do

• Develop, customize, and maintain Linux applications, system images, bootloaders, kernel modules, and system initialization processes.
• Operate, architect, and troubleshoot enterprise hyperconverged cloud and virtualization infrastructure with high availability and scalable resource management.
• Design and maintain physical and virtual networks, including TCP/IP, DNS, switching, routing, VLANs, and firewalls.
• Diagnose complex software, hardware, and full-stack Linux infrastructure issues.
• Integrate cybersecurity controls and compliance frameworks into systems and applications.
• Document technical approaches through block diagrams and written designs while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant systems administration, systems engineering, or systems development experience.
• Advanced experience configuring enterprise server operating systems and installing physical bare-metal servers.
• Familiarity with Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS).
• Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to shifting priorities, and communicate technical details to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance and work on site in Fall River at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Shell scripting, Python, or Ansible experience.
• Advanced datacenter networking and Software-Defined Networking experience.
• Enterprise-level systems engineering or administration expertise.
• Experience with DISA STIGs or Risk Management Frameworks.
• VMware, Red Hat, Cisco, Security+, or equivalent IAT Level II certification.
