Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Gas Turbine Propulsion)

What you will do

• Design and optimize static and rotary gas turbine systems for life, weight, manufacturability, and cost.
• Develop compressors, turbines, shafts, bearing systems, stationary structures, externals, accessories, and gearbox components.
• Perform geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, define assembly procedures, prepare drawings, and establish manufacturing guidelines.
• Conduct FMECA and support safety, operability, and integrity assessments.
• Review designs and simulations, generate testing guidelines, and identify and mitigate project risks.
• Support colleagues, develop junior engineers, and provide constructive technical feedback.

Requirements

• Degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• 5–15 years or more of experience in gas turbine propulsion, mechanical design, integrity, and heat transfer.
• Fluent English and strong communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or a similar mechanical design package.
• Experience with PLM tools such as Teamcenter or Windchill, plus FEA or lower-order simulation methods.
• Experience with C, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar programming and simulation tools.

Nice to have

• Experience designing gas turbine externals and accessories, including fuel pumps, oil pumps, and bleed lines.
• Experience sizing disks, shafts, couplings, connection elements, accessory gearboxes, and shaft power off-take systems.
• Experience with FRACAS activities.
• Awareness of advanced materials, aerodynamics, and structural mechanics for gas turbine propulsion.
