Sr. Director, Back-End Engineering (TestOps)

What you will do

• Set the vision and roadmap for testing as a company-wide platform capability across infrastructure and domain engineering organizations.
• Build a federated platform for infrastructure, API, UI, integration, resilience, and release validation.
• Develop self-service test planning, execution, orchestration, reporting, evidence management, and reusable test harnesses.
• Establish production-like staging, compliant test-data generation, integration validation, fault injection, disaster-recovery testing, failover validation, and load testing.
• Integrate quality gates and testing signals with CI/CD, observability, release governance, and platform systems.
• Lead managers, technical leads, and senior engineers while owning organization design, hiring, leadership development, and succession planning.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, test infrastructure, developer productivity, quality engineering, or platform engineering.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams and managers in a large-scale technology environment.
• Experience building and scaling TestOps, test infrastructure, continuous-quality, or release-validation platforms for distributed systems and continuous delivery.
• Experience with Kubernetes, cloud-native testing, service mesh, fault injection, or chaos engineering.
• Experience building AI-assisted test-generation or failure-analysis systems, as well as load testing, disaster-recovery validation, release certification, or production-readiness programs.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, test environments, test data, integration testing, reliability testing, quality metrics, and cross-organizational platform adoption.
