Principal DevOps Engineer I

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; office-based hybrid schedule with work from home permitted up to one day per week. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

What you will do

• Design, implement, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud systems across network, security, data, and application workloads.
• Define cloud strategies, roadmaps, and reference architectures.
• Build and optimize automated deployment tools, DevOps pipelines, and GitOps workflows.
• Develop and deploy production modules, upgrades, and fixes while resolving complex production issues.
• Improve capacity, reliability, availability, monitoring, performance, and security across core systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, developers, testers, and leadership; provide technical documentation and recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Python.
• 5–8 years of DevOps engineering experience.
• 4–5 years automating CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Argo, including blue/green and canary deployments.
• 2–3 years using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep; Helm; Kubernetes management tools; and GitOps workflows.
• 2–3 years working with AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid integration with on-premises systems, plus strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and software engineering skills.

• Master’s degree.
• Experience working in a lean Agile format as part of a Scrum team.
