Senior DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States. Travel is minimal and working hours are standard.

Basic compensation: $126,900–$158,600 annually in El Segundo, California.

What you will do

• Lead release management and deploy microservices in Kubernetes environments, including AWS EKS and Azure AKS.
• Design vulnerability management, security monitoring, compliance controls, and incident response automation.
• Implement secure coding practices, application security testing, and DevOps automation across multiple projects.
• Establish and oversee DevOps pipelines across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with developers, contractors, government civilians, and US Space Force stakeholders to define requirements and architecture patterns.
• Lead technical working groups, resolve risks and requirements gaps, prepare briefings, and track action items and meeting minutes.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of DevOps software development and infrastructure design experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes administration, Helm, ArgoCD, secure cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines with security scanning.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, or CloudFormation.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell, plus strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Nice to have

• Active Secret or higher security clearance.
• Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• Experience with CI/CD on classified software development networks.
• Active cybersecurity certification such as Security+, CySA+, CASP+, CISSP, or CKS.
• INCOSE certification such as CSEP or ESEP.
