Fleet Engineer 2 (Electrical Systems)

Location: Pomona, California, US; hybrid work with required reporting to an SCE facility, and employees must work and reside in California. The position requires up to 25% travel throughout the SCE service territory. Relocation does not apply.

Salary: $101,900–$152,800 per year

What you will do

• Lead technical projects covering vehicle specifications, equipment designs, drawings, contracts, supplier evaluation, and production.
• Inspect and evaluate electrical equipment and systems, identify installation issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement improvements.
• Perform equipment failure assessments and root-cause analyses, then implement and verify corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, design plans, correspondence, and project documentation.
• Perform power system modeling and analysis, develop electrical facility designs, size systems, create one-line diagrams, and select equipment.
• Support preventive maintenance, infrastructure validation, technology strategy, standards implementation, and project changes through the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or in a scientific, technical, or mathematics field.
• At least two years of engineering experience in operations, production, construction, or maintenance environments.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Must work and reside in California and report to an SCE facility on designated hybrid-work days.
• Ability to travel and work in the field for up to 25% of the time.

Nice to have

• Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Experience managing supplier contracts for vehicle delivery.
• Truck, equipment, or service-body design experience.
• Vehicle sourcing experience using formal requests for proposals in partnership with supply management.
