Lead Engineer - Project Solutions (Hybrid Schedule)

Location: Hartford, CT; hybrid schedule. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required as necessary, with occasional to significant travel by car. Emergency restoration assignments may require work outside normal responsibilities, hours, and location.

Annual salary: $145,670–$161,860, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead Project Solutions department operations, including resource planning, workload prioritization, internal customer support, and quality control.
• Develop, justify, approve, and maintain multi-year Life Cycle Plan activities for transmission and distribution assets.
• Supervise, coach, and develop engineers, reviewers, and analysts; assign work, approve time, and conduct performance reviews.
• Review proposed infrastructure projects involving substations, protection and controls, SCADA and communications, underground cables, overhead transmission systems, and supporting civil and environmental construction.
• Support the Eversource Project Approval Committee and Solution Design Committee, including technical and financial project approvals through PowerPlan.
• Coordinate KPIs, process improvements, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, standards, and technical support across engineering, operations, finance, project management, compliance, construction, and related functions.

Requirements

• At least eight years of technical, operational, or engineering experience in the electrical utility industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Ability to develop, present, and execute projects independently through cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience supervising, directing, or developing engineering staff preferred.
• Knowledge of utility power systems and familiarity with power-related software preferred; substation knowledge is an advantage.
• Valid driver’s license and availability for emergency restoration assignments and required travel.
