Senior Android Engineer (Fintech)

Location: New York, NY, United States

Salary: $160,000–$240,000 base salary per year, plus equity, bonus, and an additional bonus of up to 20% of annual salary.

What you will do

• Lead the design, architecture, and optimization of the Android SDK.
• Profile and improve memory usage, garbage collection, CPU utilization, allocation behavior, concurrency, and rendering performance.
• Design stable public SDK APIs and create clear integration documentation for partner developers.
• Expand unit, UI automation, integration, and performance test coverage.
• Co-own Android CI/CD workflows and validate releases end to end.
• Investigate complex production issues, build preventive guardrails, and represent Android platform considerations in technical planning and reviews.

Requirements

• Strong debugging skills with Android profiling tools.
• Deep knowledge of memory management, garbage collection, threading, CPU analysis, and asynchronous or multithreaded systems.
• Experience designing, validating, and documenting public SDK APIs and building Android libraries.
• Strong testing practices, including UI automation, plus familiarity with Android CI/CD systems.
• Experience with feature flags and staged rollout strategies.
• Deep WebView experience, strong Java for Android development skills, and familiarity with Gradle build tooling and performance tuning.
