Product Manager – Media & Reagents

Location: Remote, with a preference for local candidates in the United States. Address listed in Manassas, Virginia; conditions reference Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Salary: $115,000–$130,000 annually, with potential incentive compensation, merit increases, and a corporate bonus program.

What you will do

• Develop product strategies, product visions, value propositions, positioning, and three-year roadmaps for a portfolio of media, sera, supplements, reagents, and cell-culture products.
• Analyze customer workflows, applications, market trends, competitive offerings, and scientific developments to define product requirements and roadmap priorities.
• Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities to expand products, applications, and market reach.
• Lead cross-functional new product development initiatives across the product lifecycle.
• Coordinate product launches, commercialization planning, business cases, and market positioning.
• Develop pricing strategies and evaluate competitive market dynamics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; alternatives include a master’s degree with 6 years, a PhD with 3 years, or a high school diploma with 12 years.
• 3–5 years of experience in product management, product marketing, portfolio management, business development, or a related life sciences role.
• Experience with biological products, reagents, cell culture, microbiology, molecular biology, or reference materials.
• Experience managing products through the lifecycle and developing business cases, product requirements, or commercialization plans.
• Strong understanding of life science research markets, customer applications, scientific workflows, and cross-functional work in a matrix organization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate scientific information into business strategy.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, MS, or MBA.
• Experience with cell culture media, sera, supplements, reagents, or specialty cell culture applications.
• Experience leading cross-functional product development and commercialization initiatives in the life sciences industry.
