What you will do

  • Provide analytical support for cost recovery proceedings before the California Public Utilities Commission, including wildfire and catastrophic event accounts and energy resource recovery applications.
  • Analyze the financial and operational impacts of asset and business-environment changes.
  • Prepare financial reviews, query databases, gather data, and complete pricing, forecasting, and performance analyses.
  • Develop analysis models, integrate forecasts from multiple sources, and document assumptions and results.
  • Support market structure evaluations, market reporting, and implementation of market design initiatives.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting, long-range financial forecasts, regulatory materials, and process documentation.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience in modeling, forecasting, economic analysis, and reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, economics, law, finance, communications, public policy, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience supporting regulatory proceedings, utility operations, or testimony for regulatory filings is preferred.
  • Experience presenting financial and operational impacts of risk-informed strategies to leadership is preferred.
  • Unless otherwise noted, employees must work and reside in California.

Nice to have

  • Experience leading or supporting short-term ad hoc projects.
  • Experience reviewing business processes and recommending solutions for operational impacts.
