Senior Cost Technician / Project Controls Analyst

What you will do

• Maintain detailed and summary-level cost control files for multiple projects throughout the project lifecycle.
• Process timesheets, manage time-tracking data, and reconcile invoices against signed contracts.
• Coordinate invoice approvals with Project Managers and support timely vendor and contractor payments.
• Prepare standard and ad-hoc cost reports and analyze project cost performance.
• Support forecasting, annual budget preparation, and associated financial reporting.
• Collaborate with project teams, procurement, suppliers, and vendors to resolve discrepancies and improve cost-control processes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in project cost control, project accounting, or related financial administration.
• Experience managing multiple project cost files and large-scale financial databases.
• Strong skills in data accuracy, invoice reconciliation, contract auditing, project control software, and advanced Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex cost data to Project Managers.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively across departments.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing cost-saving or cost-preventative process improvements.
• Familiarity with ERP or project controls software environments.
• Ability to tailor reporting and analysis to diverse stakeholder requirements.
