Automation Technician I - Night Shift (PLC/Process Control)

Location: Onsite in Clayton, North Carolina, United States; night shift with shifts of up to 12 hours.

What you will do

• Support operation, maintenance, and system management of site-wide process control systems.
• Troubleshoot process downtime and repair control system hardware and interfaces.
• Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on automation equipment.
• Support control system installations, hardware inventory, and reliability improvement plans.
• Develop maintenance procedures and training materials, and coach colleagues and stakeholders.
• Apply cLEAN tools, risk management, automation/IT standards, cGMPs, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Electronics, Computers, Engineering, or a relevant field from an accredited university, or a high school diploma/GED with four years of relevant instrumentation and control systems experience.
• Entry-level ability to troubleshoot PLCs, process control systems, and distributed control systems.
• Knowledge of PLC systems including Rockwell and Siemens, HMI, PCS/DCS such as DeltaV and iFix, historians such as OSI PI and iBatch, SCADA, MES, and MS SQL is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot automated and IT system issues, including interfaces and hardware components, is preferred.
• Ability to work onsite for a night shift, remain on foot for up to 12 hours, move equipment weighing up to 33 pounds, and work around noise, hazardous materials, elevated heights, and confined spaces when required.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical, biotech, food, cosmetic, beverage, or related process control environments is preferred.
