Media Communications Senior Advisor

Location: Palm Springs, California, United States; hybrid work with required residence in California and regular reporting to an SCE facility

Salary: $161,700–$242,600 per year

What you will do

• Lead strategic communications execution and measure effectiveness for the assigned focus area.
• Develop media strategies, messaging, editorial plans, content pipelines, blogs, op-eds, fact sheets, and talking points.
• Pitch and respond to media opportunities while serving as a spokesperson for Edison International and hirify.global.
• Provide communications counsel, manage reputational risk, and support crisis communications.
• Serve as Public Information Officer during Incident Management Team activations and support customers and communities during emergencies.
• Participate in a rotational after-hours on-call schedule, including nights and weekends, with up to 20% travel throughout the SCE service territory.

Requirements

• 10 or more years of experience in corporate communications in a corporate or agency environment.
• Strong writing skills for media and social media platforms.
• Experience with media relations and social media across corporate, agency, or newsroom environments.
• Knowledge of the media landscape and proficiency with social media platforms.
• Must work and reside in California unless otherwise noted.
• Must be available for hybrid facility reporting and rotational after-hours on-call duty.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience communicating about corporate finance and utilities.
• Experience with Cision, BusinessWire, or similar platforms.
• Experience with project management or media campaign management.
