EVP, Communications

Location: On-site in Portland, Oregon, United States. Relocation assistance is available if needed.

Salary: $230,000–$350,000 plus company equity.

What you will do

• Build and lead the communications function as hirify.global enters the public stage.
• Create brand, messaging, and proactive communications strategies tied to the mission, company values, and product roadmap.
• Develop relationships with traditional, digital, broadcast, energy, climate, technology, business, and culture media.
• Advise executives on company messaging, funding narratives, announcements, speaking opportunities, and industry moments.
• Build a social media and community engagement team, including systems for feedback, dialogue, and response.
• Translate complex science and engineering into clear communications for investors, policymakers, partners, employees, media, and the public.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience in media relations, journalism, public relations, or strategic communications, including senior leadership experience.
• Experience managing press proactively and reactively, with strong relationships with relevant media and journalists.
• Ability to perform most aspects of the role as an individual contributor.
• Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, manage agencies, and build in-house communications teams.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to make complex ideas clear and compelling.
• Strong judgment, presence, adaptability, and effectiveness in ambiguous or rapidly changing situations.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with policy and regulatory communications.
• Experience developing communications strategies for global companies across international jurisdictions.
• Experience supporting C-suite media training and preparation.
• Experience in high-growth, venture-backed, or founder-led environments.
• Experience building brand awareness in energy, climate, deep tech, or industrial projects.
