Electric System Inspector

Location: Blythe, California, United States; on-site at an SCE facility or in the field. The role may require extended work throughout the SCE service territory and up to 20% travel. Relocation does not apply.

Salary: $45.51–$53.58 per hour

What you will do

• Inspect distribution assets for safety, reliability, environmental, and regulatory hazards.
• Identify General Orders 95 and 128 infractions, safety deficiencies, unsafe work practices, and wood pole integrity issues.
• Perform public-level repairs on poles and related structures.
• Conduct annual patrols of overhead circuits and prioritize required repairs.
• Reconcile differences between actual field conditions and documented information.
• Protect company assets and properly manage sensitive customer, proprietary, cybersecurity, and medical information.

Requirements

• Valid Class C driver’s license.
• Ability to successfully complete required SCE training.
• Ability to pass the required Personnel Risk Assessment or background investigation for this NERC/CIP-impacted position.
• Ability to work on-site and in field locations across the SCE service territory.
• Applicants continuing in the selection process must complete the EEI CAST Test #5108 unless a previous passing result is accepted.

Nice to have

• Experience conducting electric utility construction and maintenance inspections.
• Knowledge of overhead electric infrastructure construction, safe work practices, electrical theory, and construction or maintenance standards.
• Experience with General Orders 95 and 128.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and inspection technology or software tools.
• Experience interacting with utility customers and stakeholders to resolve issues and answer inquiries.
