Field Safety Advisor – Orange Region (Electric Utility Safety)

Location: Santa Ana, California, US; hybrid work with required residence and employment in California. The role requires up to 80% travel throughout the SCE service territory. Relocation does not apply.

Salary: $143,900–$215,800 per year

What you will do

• Provide guidance on safety programs, policies, procedures, and operational practices across transmission, distribution, vegetation management, underground civil, and other organizational units.
• Partner with frontline leaders and employees to identify and mitigate risks that could lead to injuries, serious injuries, or fatalities.
• Coach employees and leaders on safe work processes, behaviors, and methods for reducing operational risk.
• Implement the Safety Support Plan and support safety teams, safety congresses, partner meetings, cause evaluations, and policy changes.
• Review safety data, observations, corrective actions, and compliance outcomes; recommend solutions and escalate issues when needed.
• Provide safety support during emergency and storm response, including 24/7 availability within the designated area when required.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of experience in electrical utility craft, safety, or compliance programs, activities, or systems.
• Valid Class C driver's license.
• Knowledge of CAL/OSHA and other governmental regulations related to the electric utility industry.
• Ability to travel and work in the field for up to 80% of the role across the SCE service territory.
• Must work and reside in California unless otherwise noted; the position is hybrid and requires reporting to an SCE facility on scheduled days.

Nice to have

• Experience participating in safety investigations and recommending solutions.
• Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) or another applicable safety certification.
• Experience analyzing work methods and recommending improvements.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
