Construction Manager

Location: United States, Virginia; generally onsite 5 days a week with travel required

Salary: $108,000–$135,150 per year, plus annual bonus

What you will do

• Manage onsite construction of utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System projects delivered by third-party EPC contractors.
• Prepare and manage project execution plans, schedules, kickoff meetings, closeout activities, and schedule remediation plans.
• Monitor safety, environmental impacts, QA/QC plans, construction milestones, deliverables, invoices, change orders, and punch lists.
• Act as the owner’s representative and coordinate with EPC contractors, internal engineering and project management teams, landowners, the DEQ, and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Conduct daily safety walks, site inspections, job walks, and progress reporting, including drone photo updates.
• Verify civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical milestones and ensure work complies with scopes, designs, permits, contracts, and quality standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of onsite utility-scale solar, battery storage, and/or substation construction management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of solar construction management processes, means, and methods, with expert knowledge of construction details, products, regulations, and quality standards.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Willingness to travel, work onsite generally 5 days per week, and perform physically rigorous inspections in different climates.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and ability to adapt to changing software and technology needs.
• Ability to lead QA/QC activities, create and verify punch lists, manage commodity tracking, and operate Google Earth.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• Proficiency with Procore.
• FAA Part 107 license; the license will be required if not already completed.
