Media Relations Communications Senior Advisor

Location: Tulare, California, US; hybrid work with required residence in California and regular reporting to an SCE facility. Up to 20% travel throughout the SCE service territory. Relocation does not apply.

Salary: $161,700–$242,600 per year

What you will do

• Lead strategic communications execution and measure effectiveness for the assigned focus area.
• Pitch and respond to media opportunities on behalf of Edison International and hirify.global while serving as a bilingual Spanish spokesperson.
• Develop editorial plans, content pipelines, blogs, op-eds, fact sheets, site copy, talking points, and other communications materials.
• Translate business goals into communications strategies, tactics, and messaging.
• Advise stakeholders, support risk mitigation and crisis communications, and identify opportunities to promote major initiatives.
• Serve as a Public Information Officer during Incident Management Team activations and support customers and communities during emergencies.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in corporate communications within a corporate or agency environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience in media relations and social media, including strong writing skills for media and social platforms.
• Knowledge of the utility communications environment and the media landscape.
• Ability to pass a NERC/CIP Personnel Risk Assessment or Background Investigation and complete required training before receiving unescorted access.
• Must work and reside in California and report to an SCE facility for a set number of days under the hybrid work arrangement.

Nice to have

• Fluency in Spanish.
• Experience with Cision, BusinessWire, or similar platforms.
• Experience with project management or media campaign management.
