Regional Environmental Advisor

Location: Big Creek, California, US. Hybrid work with required reporting to the Northern Hydro Office for a set number of days; employees are generally required to work and reside in California. Up to 75% travel and field work across the SCE service territory.

Salary: $129,200–$193,700 annually

What you will do

• Recommend and implement actions to maintain compliance with environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with governmental agencies, external partners, and internal business groups.
• Develop and improve environmental compliance processes, standards, procedures, training, and operational plans.
• Assess environmental risks and implement risk reduction and mitigation programs.
• Conduct environmental inspections and self-assessments while maintaining accurate compliance records.
• Oversee environmental initiatives, prepare regulatory reports and studies, and ensure timely completion of projects.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of experience in environmental compliance, related compliance, or permitting.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement and reside in California.
• Ability to travel and perform field work for up to 75% of the working time.
• Successful completion of a Personnel Risk Assessment or background investigation is required before hire for this NERC/CIP-impacted position.

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with agency officials.
• Project management experience in environmental science.
• Experience with hazardous materials.
