Staff Scientist II (Environmental)

Location: Bridgewater, NJ; Somerville, NJ. The role combines office and outdoor field work, including work on uneven terrain, in varying weather conditions, and with some heavy lifting.

Salary: Starting at $64,000.00 per year.

What you will do

• Perform field investigations, data collection, measurements, excavation observation, and field documentation.
• Oversee drilling and log soil borings, monitoring wells, and soil vapor points.
• Collect groundwater, soil, sediment, air, and surface-water samples for laboratory analysis.
• Research, interpret, and format environmental data using online databases, modeling, applicable software, and Excel.
• Prepare regulatory submittals, technical reports, maps, illustrations, work plans, and project-specific health and safety plans.
• Operate and maintain remediation systems and apply federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work in both office and outdoor environments, including uneven terrain, changing weather, and some heavy lifting.
