Senior Claims Data Analyst (Insurance)

Location: Fully remote in the United States; location listed as Rancho Cucamonga, California

What you will do

• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries and stored procedures for reporting, analysis, and operational decisions.
• Design and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports using Microsoft Fabric and DirectLake.
• Build operational reporting for casualty, SIU, claims performance, workforce productivity, and scorecards.
• Perform trend analysis, forecasting, exploratory analytics, and statistical analysis of claims data.
• Identify claims leakage, payment anomalies, fraud indicators, reserve activity, and operational inefficiencies.
• Partner with Claims Operations, IT, Data Engineering, leadership, and other stakeholders to translate business questions into reliable insights and recommendations.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics.
• Strong SQL and T-SQL skills, including complex queries and stored procedures.
• Advanced Power BI experience, including dashboard development, reporting, and DAX.
• Ability to work independently with large and complex datasets and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and organization skills.
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, computer science, actuarial science, mathematics, business analytics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience in insurance, financial services, claims operations, personal auto insurance, or claims data.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Lakehouse environments, actuarial concepts, and AI-assisted analytics tools.
