Claims Data Manager (Power BI)

Location: Fully remote; CA and IT

Salary: $140,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries and stored procedures for reporting, analysis, and operational decision-making.
• Build and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports using Microsoft Fabric and DirectLake.
• Deliver operational reporting for casualty, SIU, claims performance, scorecards, and workforce productivity.
• Perform trend analysis, forecasting, exploratory analytics, and statistical analysis of claims data.
• Identify claims leakage, payment anomalies, fraud indicators, operational inefficiencies, and emerging risks.
• Partner with Claims Operations, IT, Data Engineering, and leadership to translate business questions into reliable insights and recommendations.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics.
• Strong SQL and T-SQL experience, including complex queries and stored procedures.
• Advanced Power BI experience, including dashboard development, reporting, and DAX.
• Ability to work independently with large datasets and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, data science, computer science, actuarial science, mathematics, or business analytics.
• Insurance, financial services, personal auto insurance, or claims operations experience.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Lakehouse environments, actuarial concepts, and AI-assisted analytics tools.
